Bonn, 18 December 2025 – For GO! Express & Logistics, sustainability is much more than a strategic goal: it is a central component of the company's identity and shapes the further development of the entire network. From 1 January 2026, GO! will therefore offset the CO₂ emissions of every shipment – both nationally and internationally. Together with GO!, customers are making an active contribution to climate protection.
"From 1 January 2026, we will make all GO! transports sustainable – this is a key milestone for us and our customers. We are focusing on low-emission vehicles, optimised route planning and CO₂ compensation – with the aim of establishing a sustainable supply chain in the long term. At the same time, we are investing in digitalisation, automation and IT security to sustainably increase efficiency, transparency and resilience," says Martina Baerecke, Managing Director of GO! Express & Logistics.
Compensation is provided through a certified climate protection project in Germany. GO! works together with its partner CO2frei.net, which is certified according to the Gold Standard. The Gold Standard ensures that projects are implemented according to strict, transparent criteria, actually contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases and at the same time promote ecological and social sustainability. CO2frei.net implements sustainable reforestation measures and plants trees that can bind CO₂ over a long period of time, with a lifespan of around 80 years. The decision to choose a project based in Germany creates transparency and enables the climate effects achieved to be accurately traced. A total of 75,500 trees are planted each year, offsetting 32,705 tonnes of CO₂.
GO! attaches great importance to the ecological quality of these measures. Only native tree species are planted, supplemented by strategically placed fruit trees to promote biodiversity. Each plant is georeferenced and clearly identifiable. Reforestation is carried out with biological protection and a long-term maintenance concept; use or deforestation of the areas is excluded for at least 30 years. In this way, GO! ensures that the climate impact is permanent and reliable.
In parallel with offsetting, the company is continuously investing in the sustainable transformation of its transport and logistics processes. This includes switching to renewable energies, integrating electric vehicles, continuously optimising route planning to reduce mileage, and further developing resource-saving packaging and transport solutions. Internal processes are also systematically designed to minimise material consumption and energy use.
With these comprehensive measures, GO! is taking responsibility for the environmental impact of its transport processes while strengthening the future viability of its network. The aim is to achieve measurable and long-term improvements – for customers, partner companies and climate protection.
