"Business Mail" kicks off: GO! General Overnight goes into the letters market
New mail service provides alternative to business post

Bonn. The medium-sized logistics specialist for express and document despatch, GO! General Overnight, is going into the letters market this summer with its new "Business Mail" product. It will be working together with EP Europost AG & Co. KG to deliver in Germany, and with Mailmax Network (MMN) to deliver internationally, in those countries bordering on Germany. Providing a mail service constitutes an expansion of GO!'s current product portfolio, which only covers courier and express services. The plan is to appeal to companies and despatchers that wish to send larger quantities at the same time and more cheaply than before. Therefore new services will include the mailing of letters weighing over 100 g throughout Germany, and international mailing up to 2,000 g.

With the partial dismantling of the postal monopoly, "Business Mail" offers an attractive alternative - GO!'s mail service, based on proven quality, will reliably deliver business post, national and international, without being tied to schedules. Collections will be made based on minimum quantities that vary, differing from region to region and client to client. As well as offering cost savings of up to 35 per cent on national mailings, GO!'s mail collections, serving the entire country, will save its customers the time that they would otherwise be spending going to their nearest Deutsche Post AG collection point. A further benefit lies in the fact that, as is standard with GO!, payment is made on the following invoice. With this new service, GO! is offering a cheap alternative when sending business reports, product brochures, advertising literature, trial goods, returning job application documents, etc. By calling the free hotline number 0800/859 99 99, potential customers can find out minimum quantities, prices and other information about "Business Mail" from their nearest GO! depot.

The collaboration will involve GO! doing the collecting, then passing it on to its partners to sort and deliver. Within Germany, "Business Mail" will be collected by GO!, sorted by EP Europost and delivered by the latter's partners within three or four days. For international deliveries, delivery times will depend on the destination and senders can find out detailed information on standard timings from their nearest GO! depot by calling the free hotline 0800/859 99 99. Sorting and forwarding to international postal companies for delivery will be the responsibility of GO! partner MailMax Network, in Amsterdam, and its partners. Undeliverable international mail will be returned to sender.

Prior to the official service launch, numerous quality and timing tests were conducted during recent months for quality assurance purposes. Ongoing checks on delivery quality, for example through the use of telephone checks, blind calling and test addresses, will ensure that the mail service runs smoothly. Alex Eglseer, EP Europost's chairman, explains, "Ongoing, proactive controls of our delivery quality is a core component of our service. In this way we can guarantee our customers first-class reliability in delivering the post they have entrusted us with. Not all mailings are time-critical, but the dependability of economy deliveries is as important as that of more urgent consignments. In GO!, we've found a partner that shares our philosophy."

GO! MD Norbert Suttarp adds, "As the CEP market leader in terms of quality, we are pleased that this partnership has come about and that our product portfolio is expanding." He went on, "This mail service is our first response to the removal of the postal monopoly. It is GO!'s answer to customers' increasing demands for more one-stop-shop services, and we are now extremely well-equipped for the full liberalisation of the postal market in 2007."

GO! General Overnight
The GO! General Overnight Service (Deutschland) GmbH is a group of medium-sized courier service providers with 15 companies in Germany. The enterprise employs over 600 staff and 3,000 couriers in over 60 depots throughout Germany, and has 70,000 customers. Globally, GO! works with over 200 partner depots.

2004 is a company anniversary in two respects - The overnight express system began life as ADK ("Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Kurierdienste) in 1984. In 1994 the network made the decision to operate under the name GO! General Overnight.

Since those beginnings, GO! has become the market leader amongst medium-sized enterprises in Germany, and is now the leader in terms of quality in the CEP industry. Overnight delivery continues to be the core business of the express system. The many additional and added value services fall under the suffix 'Express and Logistics'.

The seeds have already been planted for the future - the greater international involvement, vigorous pursuit of superior quality standards and strategic partnerships entered into in the recent past ensure that GO! will continue to be highly ranked in the express market.
