GO! General Overnight has developed a reliable, nationwide courier network with unified product standards. At the core of its business philosophy is the customer, to
whose requirements the courier company's service offerings are aligned.
Below is an overview of the range of express and document despatch services the company provides: Since early in 2002, GO! has pursued a new umbrella brand strategy with all its services being bundled into five product categories - GO! City & Region', 'GO! Germany', 'GO! Worldwide', 'GO! Specials' and 'GO! Solutions'. Online ordering, weekend services and pickups are, of course, catered for.
Under GO! City & Region comes all regional and city-based carriage. Documents, parcels and freight are delivered by express and bulk messengers within the city or as a regional, overnight consignment. Where necessary, specific types of transport systems, e.g. cycle couriers, are employed. Upon request, messenger services, PO box emptying and inter-branch deliveries can also be provided.
GO! Germany provides the core business of overnight delivery within Germany. Depending on the depot, overnight consignments are generally collected up to 6.00 pm and in many places up to 7.30 pm, and delivered in person to the recipient the following morning between 8.00 am and 10.00 am in over 2,200 towns and municipalities. Delivery to all parts of Germany is guaranteed between 8.00 am and 12.00 am. Extended collection times - even last-minute collection prior to the courier leaving for the central hub at Neuenstein for consignments of particular importance - and earlier delivery times can all be arranged. The overnight service is available with a range of optional extras such as agreed delivery times, cash on delivery and 'specials'.
GO! Worldwide takes care of all international logistical services. GO!'s own air route to the international hub at London, and partnerships with over 200 depots throughout the world, mean that deliveries can be reliably made, for example to Trinidad in two days or to New York overnight. GO! will look after special services such as late collections at international locations, same-day services for Europe and personal on-board couriers, as well as the necessary customs formalities. Consignments are traced using a globally networked computer system.
GO! Specials are flexible, tailored additional services. They include services that can be appended to other services, such as overnight consignments. Examples include the Visa service, which looks after the carriage of travel documents and journeys to embassies, fixed schedule deliveries, identity checks for those involved in Internet-based securities trading, and the cash on delivery service.
GO! Solutions looks after all the added value services that go beyond logistical services and constitute real 'customer solutions'. The Element Exchange service is one example of such an added value service. High availability warehouses ensure that vital spare parts can be made immediately available. The Submissions service involves trained couriers hired by architects' offices and construction companies that are tendering for public construction projects. Operating as middle-men, GO!'s couriers submit the customer's bid to the bid/construction committee, monitor the bids of fellow bidders, and provide feedback to the client. Any corrections to the estimated costs that might be needed - so-called amended bids - can thus be submitted with no delay.
The principle of satisfying individual despatch problems by providing tailored transport solutions applies to all of GO! General Overnight Service (Deutschland) GmbH's services. The various services can be combined together in a modular way as required - personalised customer care makes problem-solving easier.
