GO! and time:matters

PRESS INFORMATION

28. February 2003

time:matters und GO! to operate more closely. Strategic cooperation agreed for Marketing and Sales / Joint product development and marketing planned.

Neu-Isenburg (near Frankfurt am Main)/Bonn. The two logistic services providers time:matters, who offer premium express courier services and are a subsidiary of Lufthansa Cargo AG, und GO! General Overnight, who specialise in the express despatch of parcels and documents throughout Germany, have agreed to deepen the partnership which they entered into around a year ago. The companies have agreed to cooperate strategically in the Sales and Marketing areas. Specifically, the new logistics agreement covers, for example, the development of common products and their marketing via the two companies' marketing organisations.

Since early in 2002, GO! has been exclusively responsible for making time:matters urgent door-to-door deliveries throughout Germany and for their fixed-schedule and early deliveries. The companies believe that the strengthened and broadened level of cooperation will lead to synergistic effects that will enhance their future revenue. Experts believe that the market has great potential for growth in "same-day" logistic services. Within a few years, companies will be using same-day services with the same regularity and confidence as they are currently using overnight services. It is forecast that the European express courier market has the potential to grow revenue at around 32 billion euros per year, of which about 4 per cent - or over 1.2 billion euros - will stem from the same-day segment. With this intensification of their partnership, the companies intend to capture an increasing share of this future growth.
"We are delighted about extending our partnership with GO! and we are certain that we shall be able to bring common, attractive new products to the logistics market before long", says Franz-Joseph Miller, MD of time:matters GmbH (Neu-Isenburg near Frankfurt am Main) of the companies' arrangement. Norbert Suttarp, MD of Bonn-based GO! General Overnight Service (Deutschland) GmbH, described the arrangement, "The first year of our alliance worked out wonderfully well for both sides, so we are looking at the new joint projects with great optimism."

About time:matters:
time:matters, a subsidiary of Lufthansa Cargo AG, provide companies with worldwide premium express courier air services. Their same:day, courier:express and personal:courier services collect urgent and very important materials (for example, documents and spare parts) up to shortly before take-off, transport them by the fastest possible route and deliver them to the recipient at their destination - including with a door-to-door service upon request. As part of their same:day service, time:matters fly to almost 50 airports in twelve European countries - and they have Lufthansa's entire scheduled flight network at their disposal for their consignments. Experts believe that same-day and high-quality courier services have great potential for growth, for there are major financial benefits if important materials can be delivered to the recipient on the same day or as soon as possible. Companies can spend more time on their core activities.
