History
From conception to professionalism

The early 1980s - already a bygone age. Internet and fax have yet to appear. Berlin is still an outpost. The Deutsche Bundespost (German Mail) doesn't always deliver on time. So a number of local, city-based courier companies begin to provide express delivery services. The idea is born of combining several such regional providers into a single, nationwide network. On 10th November 1984, eight medium-sized courier companies set up the ADK ("Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Kurierdienste GmbH") syndicate. As the years go by, other regional enterprises join up. In 1994, ADK became a genuine brand: General Overnight (GO!). For "overnight" is the network's true objective - to ensure next day delivery nationwide. In other words, faster than the Bundespost.
Philosophy

A brand name also clearly conveys a philosophy: "EVERYTHING GOES!" is our slogan from now on, and it's a principle that that we shall abide by.
And more and more is actually 'on the go': The number of depots is increasing, as is the number of parcels being despatched by GO!. In 1997, the figure of 500,000 deliveries was reached, but within three years, that figure was already a million.
GO! since 2000

In 2001 the company moved its head office - up till then in Hamburg and Stuttgart - to Bonn.
In January 2003, in partnership with the British express service NORSK, it set up its own international airline. A plane now flies from Kassel/Germany to London-Luton every evening. At the same time, the network continues to expand internationally. There are now depots in Luxembourg, Warsaw, Prague and many other cities.
